Think back to 1966. Gas cost around 32 cents a gallon, Chevy was getting ready to introduce a little something called the Camaro, and in Hopewell, Virginia, a man named Ervin Strosnider opened the doors to a brand-new Chevrolet dealership. Sixty years later, those doors are still open, and we're still the Hopewell Chevrolet dealership local drivers count on.

How Did Strosnider Chevrolet Get Its Start?
Strosnider Chevrolet was founded in 1966 by Ervin Strosnider, and it has stayed family-owned and operated for three generations. That's not something you see every day in the car business, and it's something we're incredibly proud of.
Of course, 60 years doesn't come without a few bumps in the road. Over the decades, our dealership has weathered everything from major fires to hurricanes. Each time, our team and our community pulled together, and today our state-of-the-art dealership still stands strong at 5200 Oaklawn Boulevard.

Here's a fun one for longtime Hopewell residents. Back when the Chevrolet Venture minivan was cruising around Virginia's driveways, Strosnider Chevrolet ran a TV commercial starring none other than our very own Kevin Strosnider, as a kid!

How Are We Celebrating 60 Years?
Sixty years is a big milestone, so we decided to celebrate all year long, and we wanted our customers to celebrate with us.
First came 60 Cars in 60 Days. Each day leading up to Memorial Day, we put one spotlight vehicle on a special one-day deal. Drivers went home in everything from a brand-new Chevy Silverado and Chevrolet Equinox to a Lexus IS 300 F Sport, and even a 1990 Corvette! Missed out? What's Changed in Hopewell Over 60 Years, and What Hasn't?
A lot has changed since 1966. Back then, a new Chevy came with an AM radio, a carburetor, and, if you were lucky, air conditioning. Today, our lot is filled with Chevy trucks that have camera views to make parking a breeze, SUVs with touchscreens bigger than some old TV sets, and an all-electric Chevy lineup that would have sounded like science fiction to Ervin's first customers.
Our service center has kept up, too. Our team now works with advanced diagnostics and software updates alongside the oil changes and brake jobs that have always kept Hopewell moving.
So what hasn't changed? The way we treat people. For six decades, generations of local drivers have trusted Strosnider Chevrolet, and we never take that for granted. A friendly face, a straight answer, and a fair deal were the standard in 1966, and they're still the standard today.
